Jessica Terry is the President for NSBE Houston Professionals and manages all aspects of the chapters’ direction, including its leadership, goals, and objectives for the year. Jessica is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt, FAST Facilitator, and Scrum Master who holds a BS in Mathematics from Bennett College for Women and a MS. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University.
Jessica works in the Oil and Gas industry, having spent five years as at Chevron and now serves as Global Advisor where she is responsible for implementing and standardizing business processes across Supply and Trading and finding way to leverage digital technologies.
Jessica’s goal this year as President is to continue building upon the foundation she set last year by raising over $50,000 in sponsorships and donations, giving away at least $20,000 in scholarships, and providing an overall valuable and rewarding experience for every Houston Professionals member.
Jessica has been a NSBE member for 5 years now and what makes NSBE great to her are the opportunities it provides for young ambitious black men and women to excel and pursue their dreams.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys traveling, creating music and exploring new adventures!
LeChell Honorat is the Vice President for NSBE Houston Professionals and manages the membership zone which she coordinates the recruitment & retention of our members.
LeChell is a certified Engineer In Training who holds a Bachelor’s degree from Southern University and A&M College at Baton Rouge.
LeChell works in the Oil & Gas Industry having spent five years at ExxonMobil and now serves as a Cost & Schedule Engineer where she is responsible for estimating costs & developing schedules for projects in the Research & Engineering Department.
LeChell goal this year as vice chair is to fill the gap and build bridges by extending the NSBE brand within and around the community, diversifying membership and working with a programs zone provide members and the community.
LeChell has been a member of NSBE for six years and what makes NSBE great to her, is the family, the opportunity to service the community and to provide minority students with the representation needed to encourage them to pursue careers in STEM.
In her spare time LeChell enjoys photography, poetry and anime.
Shermerrian Mayon is the Programs Chair for NSBE Houston Professionals and manages all aspects of the Program Zone, including Professional Development, College Initiatives and Pre-College Initiatives.
Shermerrian is a qualified Project Manager who holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, TX.
Shermerrian works in Management Consulting, having spent six years at Accenture as a consultant where she works with major oil and gas clients partaking in Retail, Upstream, and IT projects.
Shermerrian’s goal this year as Programs Chair is to build and support signature events and programs that will directly impact our junior chapters, collegiate chapters and members both personally and professionally.
Shermerrian has been a member of NSBE for 12 years and what makes NSBE great to her is the opportunities we are able to create that benefits those in the black community and the network and family we gain.
In her spare time, Shermerrian enjoys spending time with her family & travelling.
Joey Roberts is the Treasurer for NSBE Houston Professionals and manages the Finance Zone including (but not limited to): “balancing the books,” fundraising, 501(c)(3) IRS obligations and QC on all of NSBE HP’s contracts.
Joey is a certified floodplain manager who holds a Bachelors in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Public Administration from Texas A&M University.
Joey works in the public works and fiber optic industries, having spent 4 years at Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. as a Project Engineer where he provided various derivatives of public works consulting and subsurface utility engineering.
Joey’s goal this year as Treasurer is to raise $75,000 for the chapter, be a good team player and meet his or NSBE HP’s deadlines (whichever is more stringent).
Joey has been a member of NSBE for 2 years and what makes NSBE great to him is producing future black engineers who will hopefully have less information gaps than he did.
In his spare time, Joey leads his company’s Construction effort and is also the design lead for its Sand Castle and July 4th Parade Float competitions. He’s also very invested in spending quality time with his wife, Yunina.
Eric Griffin is the Secretary for NSBE Houston Professionals and manages the Communications Zone, which is responsible for developing, directing, coordinating, and monitoring all communications and public relations.
Eric is a native Houstonian, who holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
Eric works in the Oil and Gas industry, having spent 8 years at BP as a Deepwater Drilling Engineer where he is responsible for engineering design, planning and installation of deepwater wells in the Gulf of Mexico. He has worked various roles both as an offshore drilling engineer and office based throughout his career.
Eric’s goal this year as Secretary is to help continue growing the chapter through consistent marketing and enhanced exposure.
Eric has been a member of NSBE since high school and what makes NSBE great to him is the organization’s ability to link together some of the brightest minds in the black community for a common mission to reduce the minority gap in STEM professions.
In his spare time, Eric enjoys BBQ’ing & Cycling.
